This is pretty much what I'm building but with 12" wheels for better off road rolling. Also good for off season CC skiing training.

Looks like a Gateskate with a shin brace. Might be good for kiteskating if you could mount larger wheels.
With long skates like these you can carve a wide turn, but need to step turn for anything smaller than a 30' radius.

That's one of his early prototypes, but it's the best I reckon - nice big wheels must haul nicely ... a more comfy boot would be good though :o
