just been trying to fly a guerilla 18m (im a novice) set it up all right i know this cos ive had it up quite a few times before.
problem is when flying i had to turn it by pulling on the brake lines, bar wouldnt do anything, kite wouldn't auto zenith??
when i pulled left it turned right and when i pulled right it turned left, lines were not twisted or tangled.
anyway flying in about 14-17mph winds the bloody thing lifted me and then threw me back to the ground with a massive thump then seemed to drag me 50-60 ft up the beach and it felt like i was doing 40mph. what the hell did i do wrong, oh saftey leash didn't work either. guys need some help, i'm hurting really bad now
im 15 stone
6ft tall
and quite a strong guy
advise = help please

Something is way wrong ?
How much fly time do you have with other kites? Depower kites?

Was it the proper bar? Lines all equal in length? Were you hooked in. Chicken loop ( centre) to front lines and bar to back?

The pull right / turn left thing is hard to imagine if the lines weren't crossed .

Was it fully inflated?

I got slammed by my 1st arc , 1st time out to so don't feel too bad. :Ange09:

Concur with Bladerunner - for an arc to steer in the opposite direction from your input you would most certainly have to have had the lines reversed - I've done that a time or two - if your not used to flying with reversed lines you can end up looping the kite - which would explain the fast and distant drag and also the safety line getting snagged after a twist or two from a looping kite.

One other thing to note - I usually call it quits on that beast after 15 mph winds - pushing it farther than that, even with depower can be dangerous - as you now know - 17mph is for a 15m arc - things will be fun but not so much like being pulled by a bus. Hope your next time out is in more control - that beast is awesome for jumps in 15 mph winds.
