Man it seems that lately out where I am we have been getting a decent amount of windy days. Trouble is that they are either not strong enough or too
strong. The past two days it's been a decent 25-30km/h wind all day long, then when I get home from work thinking I'll go get some ATB riding in the
wind picks right up and it way way to strong for my liking (48km gusting to 78 this evening). Last night it was 25 gusting to 40 but and I was tempted
but with my board skills I would have hurt myself. Just need to get a decent day where the wind ain't so damn gusty but strong enough to progress.
Saturday thru to Tuesday calls for 20km/h winds and the way it's going maybe I'll get some time in then.

You need a Sabre, I was out last night in the buggy. Just got home and was nice to have a kite in my hands again. Hope to be home for at least a week,
trying to make it to Geek Fest, you coming?indigo_wolf - 1-7-2010 at 07:27 AM
Nice winds, sun and moderate tempertures for much of this week.
For the 3 day weekend, temperture seems to be climbing again and winds seem to be dying off.
Iif it wasn't so sad, it would be like a sick joke.

i got a kite in the air yesterday....it was my sons single liner 4.99 special though
i decided to give him undivided attention and did not bring any of my kites/gear along. yesterday afternoon/evening was one of the best for good
strength and consistant winds. buggying would have been a blast.
it's all gooooood.shaggs2riches - 1-7-2010 at 10:47 AM

Yeah I've had geek fest in my mind but right now with a baby due in a few weeks my wife wants me to stay close to home. I don't know if I'm turning
into a softy cause when I first got the mountain board I was trying to use it in 25mph winds with my access, now I'm nervous to use it in 18mph winds
with the access.shaggs2riches - 1-7-2010 at 10:48 AM

Yeah my kids have a couple of single liners that I've been meaning to take out with them, maybe I should really do that sometime this weekendmacboy - 1-7-2010 at 10:46 PM
We hit the lakes yesterday and I told myself all the way out there that over powered or underpowered I would NOT hesitate to unpack the better choice
kite. Hit the beach, wind meter said the 19 was a go. Launched it, walked out to the water to fly a bit before I grapped the board and the winds
cranked up. Back to the beach, dropped the 19 on the safety, grabbed the wind meter to see what was 10 knots had become 21!
Forecast was for dropping winds so I unpacked the 16 to wait just a bit for the drop and then go. Didn't drop. Unpacked the 13, hit the water and it
was the perfect kite. Sure, I had to rinse off and hang out three big foils but at the end of the day I got to play. And I felt safe.
Moral? Buy LOTS of kites and if you're not comfortable, don't fly. I know thoughts of my little one keep me from doing some things that before I
mighta half considered. Life's about to change and it'll never be more amazing! I've got the rest of my days to learn all I need to about kiting. No
need to take chances.
