We will meet up about the same place as last time. Just South of Klipsan Beach approach. This allows those of us that don't wish to drive and get stuck to be able to walk to the launch. Low tides are mid day, I'll probably be out mid morning. 9ish or so. Looks like good winds and weather, will see everyone there.

That forecast didn't reach the peninsula. Stuck in a vacuum all weekend with winds in the 2 - 4 range. 4's being the gusts. Wasn't skunked though. With jeff's suggestion went to 60 meter lines and bugged. With my 10 meter. Buggied real slow but got up and down the beach. Hope next event brings more wind.

bigkid - 18-7-2010 at 09:06 PM

It was nice to get out for the weekend even if all I did was stand around and talk. Good to see someone buggy:thumbup:and not shoot through the sky.
After I left I saw fletch flying the 10m Bora from 3 miles down the beach on those 175" lines, was way to cool to see the kite fly that high and that far. Not a sight you normally see at the beach.

stetson05 - 18-7-2010 at 11:07 PM

I was told I need extensions for my 17m but 30m extensions, WOW! glad to hear it worked.

fletcht - 18-7-2010 at 11:15 PM

Yeh, it was an interesting test. The wind wasn't really any stronger up there. It just opened up so much more real estate that you could generate more power with the kite. It took me awhile to get used to all that extra real estate. Is harder on the neck muscles though. However I'm not talking about great speeds with the buggy. It was at a moderate walk or less pace, and really had to work the kite. Good fun. My 10 meter looked like a 5.
