Ona Beach

Great day ripping east-west tracks with Monty. We've been talking about riding this beach for almost a year now. Hit the beach at 11:00am, winds not choice (N 12kts). I've been waiting to fly the 5.5 so out it came. Over 15 miles of East-West runs, Maxed out at 20.5 mph, not bad with such short runs. At one point I clocked Tanner (Monty & Pat's dog) at 17mph. Kind of funny watching Tanner match me turn for turn.

Her's hoping for a westerly someday. Really want to make the 7+ miles run up to the jetty.

Thanks for a great day Monty and Pat, and Carolyn said thank you for the crumb of bread! :saint:

Jealous, you should be banned from this forum for speaking like that,

why did you guys use the vapor 13, don't be afraid it's not the big.

PS. Why are you guys out playing and not in the Newport kiteshop. Lol.
I forgive you. ; )

Oh yah - it was a GREAT day! I used the 6.9 RII - tuned and rockin'. I never realized that Euro tires can squeel in a turn - what a kick...:wee::wee::wee:

@ Cory
That blaze, did you get it from arkay? In any case hit him up. He can probably fill you in as to why it was folding over. and tips on tuning.

coryseiber - 27-6-2010 at 11:19 PM

i did infact get it from him.
i think it was just to close to the edge/wind was dieing.
ever since i got the kite, the wind hasnt been around lol

arkay - 27-6-2010 at 11:39 PM

If the wind is above 10 it shouldn't have any issue flying, under 10 it takes some good flying skill. if we can meet over the 4th I'd be happy to take a look.

coryseiber - 28-6-2010 at 10:54 AM

it hasnt been over 10 much since i got it.
ill be down in Netarts for the 4th.
