Ok, so I think I found it. Less wind and more gust realted I think; 14/25/40. Totally bizzare wind for this area. When it's 25, its usually
23/25/28
If I were better on water, it would have been flyable but _completely_
lit, and I would have still used it in a buggy (only upwind) but very carefully. I've used the kite on land in 28/35 and it was ok, but certianly
very powered :D This was the first time I was using this kite and thought, boy wish I had a 10! What was also odd about the day is that there were
almost no waves on the inside so i was cruise paradise. Usually manzo is known for wave kiting.
The wind here usually turns on at noon and dies at 4 for good or continues thru til 8. I went out with my flexi 9, well just got it rigged, when the
wind died. grr. I figured that was it for the day so I packed up. But the wind came back 15m later; pretty rare for my beach. and it was much
gustier so I figured I'd pull out the v2 13 an much some gusts :D I completely depowered it and got a nice 20ft skud launch... wee.. the kite wanted
to just jump. Ave wind was 25, but the 14/40 was making the kite flap, stall, then power up. Kinda annoying, kinda. If the kite was anywhere near
zenith it would loft me a foot or so. Did a quick body dragging through a few gusts and it seemed ok, but a transition in 40 would have been
interesting. Once I get my water jump on, I imagine it'd work. Would have been nice to compare the v13 to the 9, oh well. Typically in gust to 40
i'd be on my 7, but that won't pull me at 25... ho hum!
Is there any rigging change that can be done here aside from using a different kite? I have the internal strap let out, and was on the 2nd steering
knot. I can't imagine the extra 1/2" would have bought me much.
Would have loved to see phree ripping it up on a charger!

right on ,
just pulled a 5 hour ride on the water. seriously long hauls today span of about 10 miles .
still on the SK 13m ExA. Kiteloop air crazy today tough choice on the RIG
CH 15 ...ExA 13m?? both about the same power class and speed, when using the bar stop both feel like C-Kites . the real difference the ExA when
locked all the way down TURNS really fast!. when the CH15 locked all the way down is just fast , for quicker turning you need to depower a bit.
V13 II is gonne be pumping like crazy in 15 -40 , standing around with lulls like that will get your back broken , def better to be on the
water. the canopy turns rock hard about 30 mph and jacks you like crazy.
wind like that will drop you , always look up wind for white caps it gives reasonable assurance.

ExA? What that then?
PHREERIDER - 14-6-2010 at 05:06 AM
tube kite by Starkites , a hybrid C-kite, set up like an SLE with depower.
