While being under the effects of the all too farmiliar new kite curse, it hit me. We all know that some buggies are faster than others. We all also
know that some kites are faster than others. What we dont know is who has the skills to go fastest as a pilot on a level playing field. What if we
were to somehow hold an IROC style buggy event? All pilots fly identical kites, and ride identical buggies. Obviously they would all have the same
wind to work with. Would be interesting imho.
Ideas on how we could make this happen?

Unless you are buying gear for everyone, it would have to be run serially or you would still have wind fluctuations. Although you see some overlap in
kites/sizes among people's quivers, there is also quite a bit of variance.
I expect the number of Gin Eskimos and Sky Country Alascas in the states is not particularly high.

I was thinking something along the lines of a company sponsoring said event at a gathering like nabx. I'm sure flexi or PL (or someone like that)
could toss out a handful of buggies and kites for somethinglike this. Just a thought...

kites and buggies ... sure they make a difference but its 99% pilot skill. SO everyone in the same buggy and kite is still more than likely going to
equal the same winner. To make it fair you need to handicap the better pilots if your looking for fair.
I would start with just getting a race together first. If you can even get a race together than you have accomplished something in my book

In my experience it is rare to even get a race off most of the time ( the Texas gang excluded )
While all of these are good ideas I wonder if there is even a ranking for riders at present to set up a handicap?

We know you have a handicap but we won't get into that Snowbird

I was thinking that when they were describing race format at NABX as there seems to be no class other than open. But hey open class ain't so bad
either
It's like stock car races, meh.
