Collier County FL

I've been saving for a buggy for a little while now and I finally reached my goal! I decided to call the county and check on any legal issues I may run into with the bigfoot on the beach. Guess what...NO wheels allowed on the beach at ALL. Nowhere in Collier county is it acceptable to have any wheels under ANY type of power. Ok, no big loss, we have lots of other areas to ride. Wrong. It seems the only fields available here are county owned. Wtf? My only ray of hope now would be the county fair grounds which I am waiting to hear back about, and a sod farm here which I have yet to contact. Has anyone here run into similar issues? If so, how were you able to overcome them short of relocating? Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

I'm itching to buy the bug but I can't justify it without a place readily available to ride.

There aren't too many open spaces in L.A. that are rideable that are close by....all I can say is thank God I have the ocean...Sounds like we're in similar boats. Do you kitesurf....?

Crap that's a bummer. What about Marco Island? Huge beaches there.

No, so far all I've done is static and very little land boarding. I'd love to get on the water but one of my knees is really rough. Wakeboarding used to bug it now and again when it was in better shape so I'm a bit frightened to see what getting on the water would do to it. Looks as if I may either have to take up kitesurfing with a seriously good brace, or find a job in the brunswick GA area and move lol

Welcome to the club. This is why buggying is so low profile in the states. No where to do it!

Buggy on the water = kitecat
just keep on saving!

Angus: Marco is covered under Collier County regulations. That's where I planned to buggy. GA is looking better and better every day...

Dino: LOL!!! Kitecat would be awesome but I don't see that happening any time soon

I'm going to find a way to spend some cash on a bug one way or another! Hell, I already have my helmet, goggles, gloves, etc. I HAVE to find a way to buggy lol

Public schools sometimes has fields. University's most always do.

I've had the same problem. Bought the bug, hung it in the shop as the field I use is a hill. Might try it there again this year.

Then the fields I can get in have trees on the west side, where the wind comes from or cow poop. But I'm not about to give up.

I'll keep the the bug and keep looking for areas.

Use Google Earth to look around your area. You can get the size, elevation and figure out where the wind will be coming into it.

Now that's both you and Luchbox set to move to GA. We can make room. No Hurricanes here either.

Yeah, I've been drooling over JI, St Simons, and the brunswick area for a few months now. Just have to find work there, sell the house here, and make the move. Let's go real estate market! Get back up there in SW FL!
