We know we will get more as we almost always do at the last minute, but to have 140 registered now, is pretty exciting!
Every last penny will go back into the event to provide us all with the most fun we can imagine, and we can imagine a lot!
I just read the menu for the banquet, oh boy, and thursday and friday are going to be filled with surprise.
Never have we had so many foreign registrations, GB, BC, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Israel, Japan, Holland, Florida, and not just one, but many
from so many different places and cultures on the globe. I think the guys from Mexico are coming as well with the crab buggy. We also will have
many visiting para gliders joining us, they will be flying around next door at Jean, while there might even be a trip or two to Lake Mojave for some
fun on the water. So, sky, land, sea, we got it pretty well covered.
I know for a fact that new, purpose built buggy's never before seen will be showing up to challenge the speed record(the last one stood for almost a
decade)not to mention some exciting new product debuts.
If you haven't pulled the trigger, there are always last minute flights to Las Vegas. You really don't want to miss this one folks, it's shaping up
to be the whoop de doo of the decade, almost like we'd been planning it for the whole year(nah, we just lounge around head quarters, drinking
champagne, wondering when the next show girl is going to bring us a snack).
I also understand there's a new game the Mayor is to introduce early in the week, can't wait to see what that's about. Remember, the last one was
shot car racing and he never rests on his laurels, so this new one ought to be a smoker if he's going to top that one.
The shirt design is dad gum good, with a nod towards our history with a brand new front crest, the raffle will be filled with goodies you can't
resist, and if any of this doesn't flip your lid, you can always go buggy! Go Team NABX!

It looks like I will be able to go this year. I just registered. I will not make the pre-event but I am still very happy. This year looks to be the
best event for me since I started going 5 years ago.
See ya on the playa.

he he, good observation Rich -I see that also puts BC in the same unique category as Florida! I guess it's because of the mild winter out west and the
cold winter in Florida.
I know the guys from the north will step up big time!ripsessionkites - 18-3-2010 at 02:32 AM

ooooohhhhhh.....:bouncing:acampbell - 18-3-2010 at 06:57 AM
Mine was when I raced the shadow of the mountains as it swept across the lake as the sun set behind them. Thanks AJ for that enlightenment.
Phree and Bobby, you have to promise to do this for me this year.BeamerBob - 18-3-2010 at 07:19 AM
I'm on it Angus. 3 times if possible. I hope my body can stand what my mind has in store for it. So can you keep up with the sun or does it get
faster as it moves across the playa?acampbell - 18-3-2010 at 07:40 AM
I remember keep up pretty easy on the western half, maybe around 15-20 but it does accelerate and I remember losing it by the time I had to slow down
to keep from plowing in to BuggyTown.ripsessionkites - 18-3-2010 at 11:56 AM
I do not reference the term AoxomoxoA from the Grateful Dead.
Although i'm a fan of the Dead, i got the term from the same place they did, Rick Griffin.
He did a strip in Surfer magazine called Murphy, and Murphy had a friend...
When Murphy dropped in on a wave, he would call out: "Cowabunga", when the Alien would drop in, he would call out: "AoxomoxoA".
For me, kite flying embodies the spirit and the zen of Aoxo~ it's what i search for in my life. Those moments when time stands still, when nothing
but the moment matters, when you are the kite, you are the buggy, you are that turning wheel on that sweeping beach, gulls flying all around, locked
in, silently ripping up and down the beach, wind in your face, sun shining, heart beating, life living.
It's why i fly kites. It's why i buggy. Here is a link to one attempt to explain, and a picture of the original inspiration.
I didn't bring aoxomoxoa to kiting, aoxomoxoa was here all along.
