Buggy wheel retrofit - bearings?

macboy - 11-3-2010 at 09:47 PM

Anyone know where I can get my hands on some 20mm ID bearings to fit the old PL three spoke chrome hubs? I exhausted my local options today. If you need the OD let me kow and I can measure it. Need four for the rears and then I think a 15mm ID for the front? (It's for the XR+)

Like so? From AWOC

Width (mm):14
Outer Diameter (mm):47
Inner Diameter (mm):20

on the XR+ its 20mm on the rear and 12mm on the front

if your buggy is older or the ST than its 15mm on the rear and 12mm on the front

i thought the 3 Spoke Rims were 15mm, i cant remember back to 2003

Here's the scoop on the hubs. I'd need a bearing with an OD of 32mm and then an ID of 20mm for the rear axle bolt. Me thinks there's just not enough differential between the OD and the ID to even make a bearing that would be worth taking a load.

Might be s#!t outta luck BUT I did find some hub type dealies that might work. Have to pursue it a bit further after NABX. Seems like these (or something like these) might do the trick - AND open up a whole new world of wheel options:

Well then! Thanks SilverEagle!

I don't think they ship to Canada but even just the thought that such an animal exists gives me hope I might find a Canadian supply. If not I have a hunch that I might find a PKFer that'd help me out down south

any time:spin: I just ordered another set of bushings for some new wheels my self.

Well, whaddaya know? I just placed an order and they'll ship to Canada. Why on earth did I think they wouldn't? Hopefully it's not UPS (not holding my breath there) but you know what? At least I got 'em.....now the XR+ can roll into NABX with the bigfoots!

(Here's hopin' they make it up here in time ; )

Ah! Oh well. It won't hurt too bad considering I have a full set of bearings here that will be sitting waiting for the buggy build which will happen at some undetermined date. With luck I'll be under the automatic $50 broker fee.

Damn UPS burns me. I'll let you know what they do to me ; )
