Valentines with the Scorpion

Took the Scorpion out for a little bonding time on Valentines day. My father took this video for me. I'm not all that great just yet and the winds died down from what they were when I woke that morning, but I still had a blast. Sorry if its a little dull, I'm still new to the whole make a video on the computer thing, next time it will be better I promise lol.

Wow. Looks like you had some nice clean winds. Frustrating as hell when it's "just not enough" hey? Awesome! Hard to believe you jut got into this.....jealous of the snowboard skills.

in the light winds ... what do you have your internal kite straps at??? all out???

i find that the loose (kite) all out (bar) works best in the lower winds. my wooden nickel input.

yep, must be a whole new thing with 9 minute videos ... im going to start calling all my future vids "9mins of jealousy"

Yeah I widh that the winds would have been stronger so that I wasn't on my butt all the time. I did have my kite set with the straps loose, but I never considered letting the trim all the way out, kinda thought that in the lower end of the kites range that it would stall out, but I guess since I had the kite moving constantly it might not have been a problem, I'll keep that in mind next time. I wish that I could have added sound to it, but it seems that the only program I had that would allow me to view that video off my camera disc, was nero. I couldn't figure out how to dub sound over it. Next time I guess.

Windows Movie Maker is good enough for mashing video ... should be included with XP and I believe you can get it for 7 as well ...

yep I tried to use windows movie maker but it kept saying that that the video that my cam made on mini dvd was an unsupported format. Even though I could watch the video on windows media player, but I couldn't download it or edit it. Must be some settings I can change in my video camera but I lost the instructions :lol:

Huh! Do you not have the right codec installed then?
There's always VirtualDub too but that's pretty twitchy to use ...

Happened to me too with my flip video camcorder. Anyone know how to fix this?

yeah I'd like to figure it out soon but my skills on the puter are limited so not helping much. I have a Hitachi Cinema res cam of some sorts. I can't figure out if there is something that I need to be downloading or a setting in the camera. Might look into some video editing software from arcsoft.

Shaggs, nice vid. I forgot how great that kite looks in the air. You need a GoPro hero cam lol. Keep up the good work man. Keep the vids coming.

If it's DV then it's just .mpeg2 regardless of the file extension ... I'm sure it's not a huge problem ;)
Personally, I'd rather here the wind and stuff than music but that's just me :D
