Actually, Jan is the man. But, I can help! There are no hotel/motels that you can walk out back and be flying, but you can get close. The Ridgeview Hotel in Lowville (315)376-2252, and the Le-Hav Motel, (315)376-2721, are both just down the hill (+/- 5 miles) from the Hanno lot, on the West Line Road, just off State Rte.177, West of Lowville. The Hanno lot is the planned meet-up spot for today, btw. I'm not affiliated with either hotel, just trying to be helpful.

A shot of me butt scudding across Chaumont Bay with my 2.4M NPW 5, in 20+ wind!

I got up to Hanno lot this morning, when I left the house here in the valley the wind was light and var., but on the hill it was NW at 12+ and gusting. Snow was 12"+, hard packe with crystallized surface, but rideable. I wish I had brought my equip., but working this afternoon, anyway. I took a few pics, here's one with my 'new' ride in the foreground!

hey Bob SWEEEEET ride man, no problem getting all your gear in there. did kiting influence your decision making process, big change from your last ride.

Yes, cheezy, I really wanted the space, and I drove a pick-up for about 10yrs before I started driving whichever car my wife was tired of. I figured it was time for a pickup again. Here's one of Jan riding at Hanno's this morning.

Well I got up to the Hanno lot this morning, and if there had been more wind, conditions would have been rideable today, but it's currently 52 deg. F and rain is in the forecast. By the weekend???? I probably wouldn't risk a real long drive, but if there is any wind, I'm sure I'll at least check it out. On a positive note, I converted my 3.5M Imp 3-line/bar trainer to 4 lines/handles. Still needs a little tweaking, but the improved performance is impressive. Will post more on that under kites and accesories.
