nose and cheek protection

Hey guys I've been battling with a bit of a situation... I have balaclava type hood/face protection, but it is thick and bulky and doesn't fit under my already snug helmet. What do you guys use as a helmet liner and nose and cheek cover that is fairly thin but warm and provides adequate wind protection?

I've got a thin skull cap to protect my bald head but really it's gotta be touching minus 35 with the windchill before I feel the need to cover my face. When I do I have a thin (t-shirt thin) baclava that fits the bill.

Manzella Windstopper balaclava when it's really cold out. Bought mine at Campmor Sierra Trading a couple years back on clearance. OK price here:

Very thin and fits in the helmet. Mouth hole is a bit small - remove the mesh and open it a bit. Only thing I don't like about windstopper for head gear is diminished hearing.

Ben I have your solution! I just bought a balaclava before the trip that is thin and doesnt fog the goggles and it works AMAZINGLY. I will let you try it on. They are at scheels.

For my head: bandana, with a thin neoprene/fleece skull cap if super cold. I have a vented helmet and usually wearing the bandana with vents closed is enough in 20degF with the wind blowing, sub zero I throw on the skull cap

for my face: I use something similar to the product above with the fleece liner/neoprene. (make sure to wash it with an enzyme killer not a detergent, nothing like manky ski gear when it gets warm with your breath) Otherwise I use a double bandana (made out of capoliene) /fleece system, so that I can pull one down and not the other. I have used it when just skiing, hiking, riding a 'sled, and kiting.

They never cease to amaze me with fleece.... then microfleece.... whats next? nano-fleece?
