An important note out of that linked story "Such infections, often mild, can become life-threatening for people with underlying medical conditions such as diabetes or hepatitis." So most people should be fine. Not that it isn't good to know.

pretty scary, indeed.... i have injured myself in those waters recently... scraped my knee, too... makes you wonder someetimes:dunno:

bay water is a little more stagnant and prone to collecting bacteria.... coastal waters should be fine... once the water temp drops, even baywater wont be able to support much in the way of bacteria, if i remember my science correctly
