I have secured the dates for JIBE (Jekyll Island Buggy Expo) with the Jekyll Island Authority and we are good to go.
Wednesday May 12th through Saturday May 15
Low tide is 2:15 pm Wednesday and 4:23 pm Saturday
Web site will be up later this summer, and registration details will go up January 2010
One addition I might add if people are interested is overnight buggy parking in the Blackbeards parking lot, guarded by hired security. We would
still have to get the buggies off the beach at night because of wildlife, tides, etc. but this would save you from having to knock it down to get it
in the car every night.
Or is this not worth it if I were to ask for a parking fee of $10-13 ?? (just to pay for the guard).
I know a lot of you have trucks or buggy racks.

I can load mine up by taking the two back wheels off. Not worth it for me. Now, if we can keep our arcs hovering at
zenith......................:smug:
acampbell - 16-7-2009 at 01:31 PM
Yes, we'll have the ARC PARC and Phanny Pharm

What about a trailer? I'd love to park it over night. Would they freak if you ran a generator?
acampbell - 16-7-2009 at 03:40 PM
Where does the generator come in? We gonna freeze them? A trailer might be more affordable though.
BeamerBob - 17-7-2009 at 04:33 AM
Greg, if you mean a camping trailer, they don't allow overnight parking on the public lots. Only at the official campground.

Peeps, I cannot wait till JIBE 2010! I've been severely out of the loop. Been working too hard and playing too little. I haven't lost the love, just
the time...
Angus-- I'm placing an order for 16mph steady wind to send us on some more epic runs like last year!!! I'd pay extra if you can make that happen,
Dude.. Anyone know a "Wind dance" ?? I'll also be bringing down a couple BloKarts if anyone wants to try the easy way out. I still love my buggy
more, just sometimes you need a little "strange"...
BeamerBob - 9-11-2009 at 06:54 PM
It hurts knowing I probably won't be able to make this one.
:ticking:
Maybe you guys can buggy a missing man formation if I can't go cross country.
Taper123 - 17-3-2010 at 12:24 PM
I think I'll make it a Buggy/ATB/Kiteboard week. May 7-9 in Texas for Cinco de Mayo and May 12-14 in Georgia for Jibe.

Hey Gang, one of our brothers has had a nasty run in and needs some positive thoughts and vibes sent his way. A JIBE registrant, Ted McKibben of
Portland Maine had a bad kite accident last Thursday and somehow ended up on a rock jetty. He was in the ICU for four days with numerous broken bones
and sprains. His wife says a helmet saved his life but the doctors said he is in for a rough four month recovery.
I just got an update from his wife Holly and she says he is out of the woods with less fractures than originally thought and is bound and determined
to still make it to JIBE. Gotta hand it to tough New England Yankee stock.
I hope that as people gather for NABX, either in person or vicariously like me, they think about safety and can send some good thoughts his way.
